Week 7: Peer to Peer Persuasion

Shared Rules, Shared interests, Shared space, Shared language, and Shared culture are some of the elements that make up a community.  Sharing experiences through interactive small group exercises are an important part to building a solid community in the classroom.  Peer to peer engagement exercises make room for students to get to know one another and form school bonds. It could mean every student will have some positive contact with another human, giving the especially introverted, isolated youth a time to shine.

In the lessons that follow, you will be introduced to 5 games curated to help the incessantly bored, disinterested  and withdrawn student bond, trust and work together with others.

In the world of acting, I would use these games as a way to help actors disarm and get to know their cast mates and scene partners.

In the world of teaching, these exercises support working together in small groups and one to one. It also helps students to become aware of their own habits to withdraw or dominate.
